The virtually extinct craft of “Rush Seating”. Once so popular on traditional English country chairs is still alive! Country Chair Craft is maintaining this old craft in the heart of Shropshire.

 

We offer a full repair and renovation service on those antique and traditional chairs which were originally seated with fresh water English rushes. Using the very same kind of rushes and the very same skills these chairs can be reseated in their original way, bringing them back to their original glory.

 

We also specialise in the repair of woven cane seating and cane work so widely used in Begere chairs, settees, panels and screens. We have a wide range of repair experience on the more ‘unusual’ shapes and styles as well as the repair of the manufactured cane used on modern chairs.

 

County Chair Craft offers a full repair service on both rush and cane seating of the very highest quality using these revived skills and only the very best of traditional materials.
